The fingerprint is not stored in its entirety, so there is zero risk of identity theft of any kind! The reader simply captures a number of minute visible aspects of fingerprints such as ridges, ridge endings, and bifurcation (forking). A special algorithm extracts these key points at the time of acquisition and converts the data into a unique mathematical template comparable to a 60-digit password. This unique template is then encrypted and stored in the biometric memory.
